My first impression was a deception because the poor quality of the finished product; you can even squeeze it! There's some critical parts that you should have care when you touch them, like the volume knob, the battery cover and also the CD cover. They can break very easily.
CDA playing is fair. Antishock protection DOES NOT WORK for Audio Cd's. It skips with any strong movement.
We have not been able to make it play CDRW discs. We have tried HP and Verbatim brands, burning with Nero at the suggested modes. It does not even spins the discs. We tried burning at different speeds (1,2,4x) with no success. The only thing we have not do yet is use another burning software.
MP3 play is fabulous! is what we expected. Antishock works great. There's no way to jump easily to specifical songs, so you should use directories to allow to search more quickly to a song (you must have a preprinted index because the display only shows numbers. Directory browsing is a very tricky operation that you should practice. We had to look over the internet to find a way for browse the directories because the manual is encrypted and is imposible to guess how to use the buttons set without instructions. songs at 256kbps sound distorted.
Battery life is extremely poor. NiCD Rechargeable lasts 2.5 hrs, also the same for NiMe. Maybe an Alkaline pair can last 5 or 6 hrs.
Although supplied earphones are BS, is worth to get a good pair because sound is good enough.
If you no use directories, sometimes the device resets when playing the lasts songs.
