Although SwitcHouse has been gone for some time now, a friend and I recently discovered that we'd both really enjoyed the service. I myself had completed a number of successful swaps, getting many things I wanted in exchange for what I didn't want. The system was even set up so that I could get rid of one obscure thing for something popular, and then trade the popular thing for something I wanted that was obscure. When they instituted the possibility to buy, things seemed to go a little bit downhill. The one time I purchased through SwitcHouse, it turned out to be a scam. I was lucky, though, in that I was able to get my money back because I'd paid through PayPal. I was disappointed to find that one day the SwitcHouse site had been replaced by a page saying you could sell your stuff at Amazon.com - it was the swapping I'd enjoyed most of all! I wish there were still services like SwitcHouse around today.
