surferdude7's Full Review: CHANNEL MASTER REMOTECONTROL ROTATR9521 9521A
The Channel Master Rotator is the perfect addition to any TV antenna to get pinpoint accuracy of the TV station you want to watch. This rotator comes with a wireless remote for easy use.
What you get
The Channel Master Rotator 9521A comes with the drive unit that mounts outside on the antenna pole, a control box for manual adjustments and a wireless remote with batteries included. Also included are all necessary hardware (nuts, bolts, ect.) and a manual.
They do not include the rotator wire needed to connect from the control box to the drive unit. This is a 3-wire cable that can be purchased where you buy the rotator.
The Remote
The remote is rather large for only having the numbers 0 through 9 with up/down buttons and an on/off button.
With the remote you can manually move the antenna around 360 degrees to a stopping point and then you can turn it 360 degrees the other way. You can also store memory locations (up to 69 locations) for easy pointing of the antenna.
Universal Remote Control
Even though the remote that comes with the rotator only works the rotator, Channel Master lets you control the rotator from a universal remote.
You have two options on other universal remotes by using the cable box or CD player and placing in the codes for a Pioneer product.
I use my Mitsubishi universal remote on the cable and it works fine, I have to use the channel up/down controls to move it back and forth.
Installation
Installation is easy but use the proper safety precautions when on a roof or near power lines.
1. Secure the outside drive unit on your antenna post.
2. Wire in the color codes three wires. Be sure to leave a large loop so when the antenna turns that there is enough wire to turn around the unit.
3. Place your antenna on a 3 to 5 foot pole and place it on the drive unit.
4. Run the three wires to the inside control box.
5. Turn it on and press the Sync button to synchronize it.
That is all it takes, now you can turn it manually by the control box or turn it with a remote.
Overall
The unit is great, it works perfectly and it turns pretty fast.
I did have a problem with the first on I bought, after installing it completely it wouldnt work. So I got out my test meter and it showed it was getting power to the outside unit. So I unhooked everything and packed it up in frustration and went and got a new one. Now this time before I place it on the antenna and all, I run the wires to the outside unit and inside unit to see if it worked. YES this one worked perfectly, my advice is to test it before making the complete installation.
After using it a month now it seems to perform perfectly without any problems.
I highly recommend the Channel Master Rotator 9521A with the wireless remote!
