Pros: none come to mind
Cons: poor customer service, inaccurate bills, the worst company I have ever bought service from
The Bottom Line: The average person does not have time to police companies like this, Cingular seems to know this and I assure you takes full advantage of it.

| lizmullally's Full Review: General Reviews of Cingular Wireless Customer Serv... |
I bought a plan from Cingular a bit over a year ago, for this year I was under contract, these were my experiences:
- I rarely had service, I live downtown in Seattle and could hardly ever use the phone. I had absolutely no reception in my downtown apartment which was particularly inconvenient.
-Not once was my bill the same as the rate plan I had purchased, it was always more... a strange thing given that not once did I exceeded my monthly minute allowance (because the service was so bad, I basically never used the phones)
- Not once were Cingular's customer service representatives polite, accommodating, or informative. For example, I called to drop my minutes to a minimum while I kept basic features I had (free long distance & free roaming), I wanted to keep the same plan just have the cheapest version of it, well my basic features were changed... my free roaming was removed (unknown to me at the time), the Cingular representative did not inform me of that, and I did not discover it until I received a $250 bill the next cycle. I travel a fair amount and use that feature, I never would have purposefully had it removed. When I called to dispute, they were absolutely unreasonable about it, and very rude on top of it.
-Cingular's customer service representatives were very suspect. I asked for their specific names and extensions after talking to them, on the two occasions I asked, they sort of coughed the information under their breath, so as to keep me from understanding what they had said. It was very strange, I got the distinct feeling they weren't looking out for my interests.
- Cingular messed up their billing. For example, because my two phones were so useless (due to poor service) I decided to cancel one of them and drop my plan down even lower from the story previously described. Cingular had disconnected both of the phones a week earlier because I was a half month late on the $250 bill (described earlier) that was a little difficult for me to pay. When I did call to pay the late bill (after a very rude and threatening letter that they would make a negative report on my credit score- for a half month late!) I requested the second phone just be canceled, and I would keep the other one only until I got back from another trip out of town. Well, my next $110 bill (for a supposed $29.99 plan) showed a "restoration" fee for the canceled phone as well as supposed minutes used on it, when it had been canceled a month. The moral of the story... I spent an hour on the phone disputing it, and I now have to go through a year of confusing statements from them to find other bogus charges they likely tacked on.
