I want to start off by saying that I had a really nice time on this trip. Let me tell you a little about what we did. We booked in through Apple Vacations (in the midwest) and it was all inclusive, including a chartered plane. The plane was tiny and cramped, but that is besides the point. The hotel had an awesome pool/waterpark, which featured a lazy river, waterslides and various levels of pools (all made to look very natural.) They had a very nice but somewhat small beach. The highlight for me was the golf at the Three Palms (soon to be called Cinnamon Hill) Country Club, located on the premises. (If you go, ask for Howard as your caddie.)
The downsides were the food, which was so-so, at best, and the lack of hot water. Overall, I guess the hotel needed something like a fresh coat of paint. The best way to describe it would be that they need new management. There were a few poorly organized activities, but nothing much more than that.
One note: Jamaica is having a vastly increasing number of crimes against Americans. We felt safe most of the time, but you shouldn't go out at night unless you know where you are going. Always pre-arrange transportation with the hotel and don't travel by yourself.
