Buy one CD, get 12 free and 500 MyPoints to boot!!!. Wow what a deal. Truth be told, I don’t remember the exact deal I signed up for at BMGmusicservice.com. I started with the buy one, get 12 free and somewhere along the line I think I bought another...

I pay with my credit card as well, but I have them bill me, and once the items arrive, I go onto the site and pay with my VISA. I have had the same thing happen, where I basically told them that they would not get their $56 until I got my music. It was a stubborn standoff that ended a month later, when I actually got two sets of what I paid for within a few weeks.

The only real complaint I have is that $2.79 each for shipping is a ridiculous price, since they all go in the same box. And though they have a large selection brand new music tends to take a while to get re-licensed for sale on BMG. Otherwise, I don't have any complaints. It does have help to have an e-mail based subscription, rather than a snail mail one. You can also have it set up to where you have to go to the web site only if you want the featured selection. Otherwise do nothing.

who have considered joining. I withdrew from this company because they ignored my refusal cards for the monthly selections, and now I'm REALLY glad I quit. Thanks a lot for the info!

Wow, I didn't realize that because I never had to send anything back. When they sent the second package (supposedly) they did ask that if both should arrive, that I'd send one back. I'd have been glad to but neither has arrived and IF they did send it then there is a MAJOR problem with the PO. And if they don't tell the PO then the postmaster may never know.

Excellent review! I was going to join Columbia House here,but I've decided against it for the time being. The shipping charges really are exhorbitant. I think you should email BMG and send them a link to this review,I bet they'd get a kick out of your review. :)
Were I going to join BMG,you gave me the exact info I wanted to know about the club,so if I ever decide to,I'll consult this!

I have been a member of this club a few times. It seems that whenever I cancel they send me information on a great deal that I just can't pass up! And then I join again. Well, after the last time I canceled, I vowed never to join again...I don't even open the stuff they send me anymore. It goes straight into the trash. I ordered two CD's from them and it took about a month and a half to receive them. I had actually forgotten about them and had bought one of the CD's in Target. When the shipment came, I didn't even remember what I had ordered. So I sent it back without opening it and canceled my account. They are a really annoying company! Thanks for writing on this subject...it allowed me to rant a little!

I was with this music service for a while, but I had to cancel partly because I did not have the option of choosing music from a wide variety of genres--I enjoy a wide range of popular music--I chose Contemporary Christian because I enjoyed the lyrics. However, they sent me offers every two weeks and the postage really added up! As a result, I had to leave BMG/Sound & Spirit.

I have been a member of BMG many times, everytime I cancel they lure me back with one of their great deals. As soon as I get what I need I cancel.
I agree with everything in your review. My last order took 3 weeks to arrive, that is ridiculous! Especially considering the shipping for my 3 "free" CD's was $11. I know it doesn't cost them that much to ship the CD's, especially since they ship media rate, but I guess I can't complain since it's still less than I would pay elsewhere.
Good review, of a somewhat annoying company :) Oh--and you are right on about the website!

My brother and I used to sign up to this service, but quit about 4 years ago (?) after being sent CDs we didn't want and couldn't afford and wouldn't take back. They're still sending my brother stuff, luckily they forgot about me.
Great review... it's important to warn people about BMG and I think you did a good job!
