The Bottom Line: Great rack, good carrying capacity, low noise, EASY to install & remove. Could use more security. I would purchase it again.

| mwagers's Full Review: Yakima Load Warrior |
I bought this because i wanted to see if i could fit 4 people, an 80 lb dog, snowboarding/skiing equipment, and clothes, etc. in a WRX wagon for weekend trips.
I like the way the Load Warrior mounts on the racks, I can install and remove it by myself, in under 10 minutes. I like the way other Yakima accessories mount on the Load Warrior. (It has corssbars of its own, so additional accessories can be mounted on top of it).
Basically the Load Warrior does the job. I say this with a few hitches:
1. I'm not confident that a thief couldn't remove the entire basket (Load Warrior), its contents, and the racks with snowboards/skiis (or any other accessory mounted on the load warrior) and take off. This would be quite a task, but it is completely possible to do without damage to the vehicle, rack or equipment. That could cost upwards of $1000 if it happened. There's an easy fix, padlock the Load Warrior to the crossbars.
2. I also purchased the Destination 7 (a bag that zips up and fits in the Load Warrior), as well as the Big Powderhound ski/snowboard carrier. The problem it that if you pack up the bag and put it n top of the Load Warrior, the Powderhound sits too low and only 2 snowboards can fit in the rack (they must go face up, due to the bindings). I would imagine a similar problem would occur with skis, however ski bindings are much lower profile.
3. I'm not sure if it is the Load Warriors bars that are too big, or the plastic mounts for the Powderhound that are too small, but the bolt they give you is at least 1/4 inch too short. I had to 'adjust' the plastic mount to get the PowderHound to mount on Load Warrior
Other than that this is a top notch product, I have been extremely happy with its performance.
