Tinkerbell has always been a favorite character of my daughter's, and a few months ago while playing games at Dave & Busters, one of the prizes she picked out was the Disney Fairies Tinkerbell Double Sided Dry-Erase Board.
The board measures approximately 8.5" by 11" with a straight bottom and lower portion of the two sides, but the top, and the sides near the top have somewhat of a scalloped design. There are two small holes near the top through which the 13" green shoelace type string can be put and tied so that this board can hang on a hook.
Unlike most dry-erase boards, both sides of this board are decorated, each with Tinkerbell in a different pose. The lower left hand corner of one side shows Tinkerbell standing, bent over with her hands on her knees and the other side shows her lying down on a flower with one hand propping up her head. Both poses remind me of how a model might be positioned for a magazine shoot. On both sides, Tinkerbell is dressed in her standard lime-green fairy outfit and shoes, and her blue wings can be seen. This is a Disney product, and her face looks exactly as I would expect it to, complete with her big blue eyes.
The perimeter of both sides is purple, with leaves, flowers, vines and stars adding to the decoration. The center portion is white so that you can use the included pen and write notes to yourself or others on it, and then wipe them off to make way for the next notation. The marker writes in a dark periwinkle color, and the barrel has "Tink" written above a white and periwinkle drawing of the fairy. On the top of the cap is a sponge to erase what you have written, and the pen fits into a holder that can be clipped onto any side of the board.
We have had other dry-erase boards in the past where the pen markings never really come off, no matter what cleanser I used or how hard I rubbed with a paper towel. We have not had this problem with the Disney Fairies Tinkerbell Double Sided Dry-Erase Board, even when other brands of dry-erase markers were used. The sponge eraser on the top of the marker gave out a while ago, since my daughter uses this as a drawing board or for playing tic-tac-toe, rather than hanging it on the wall or her door for the occasional note. This means that it gets more use than it may have been intended for, but so far it has not shown any wear and tear.
Since this is a double-sided dry erase board, it does not have magnets attached to it that would allow it to stick to a metal locker or refrigerator. My daughter likes the fact that both sides are decorated differently, but if she wanted to turn this into a magnetic dry erase board, I could purchase magnetic pieces at our local hobby, drug or discount store and mount them on one side.
If you need a write-on/wipe-off board, why settle for a plain, boring one, when the Disney Fairies Tinkerbell Double Sided Dry-Erase Board has two colorful sides to choose from.
