Tickets for raffles and events serve more than a functional purpose. They lend a sense of legitimacy, nostalgia, and professionalism to the event - no matter what scale - that even the most sophisticated host can't convey alone. As a fundraiser for charitable organizations, I've learned that most people like to get something tangible in return for their dollars. While some people are comfortable trading their money for intagible things like "leaving a legacy" or "supporting the community," even these donors usually began their involvement with your organization with something as simple as attending an event or participating in a raffle.
After years of buying raffle tickets from office supply chains for my events, I finally decided to purchase 1,000 tickets in stapled booklets of 10 from TicketPrinting.com. The experience of ordering "real tickets" has provided a number of benefits I never expected, and the cost and speed of shipping was extremely reasonable. While I probably wouldn't count on them to do complicated flyers or invitations, I have no doubt that I'll be using them again for my future event ticket and raffle needs.
The Ordering Process My assistant found TicketPrinting.com through a basic Google search and sent me a few templates from which to choose. She also sent me offers from competing sites, but these did not allow for the level of customization at a low price that TicketPrinting.com did.
I chose a template for a basic raffle ticket which gave me an ample number of customizeable lines and an additional layer of artwork in transparency that conveyed our prize quite well. I'm picky about stock artwork, but was pleased with the selection offered by this site.
Once a template was chosen, all I had to do was insert my text for each line, similar to what you'd do on a site that offers engraving. An image of the ticket could be refreshed and I was given several upgrades, like including a logo on the back of the ticket, choosing numbers, and stapled booklets.
A Truly Branded Event TicketPrinting.com allowed our nonprofit organization to create a ticket that not only made logistical sense, but also promoted the mission of the organization. For a small fee, we were able to add our company logo and additional information on the back of the raffle tickets, and separate our order into stapled, numbered booklets of 10 that allowed us to easily recruit sellers and track sales.
The process of uploading our logo and designing the ticket was even simpler than my experience ordering with 48hourprint.com. The resolution on the screen exactly resembled the printed product, with the exception of some additional colored text which came out pixelated in print. I loved the fact that I was able to order these tickets from my work desk, where I don't have access to the Adobe Creative Suite to make multiple changes to .pdfs like I do at home.
I used a company Visa card, and received immediate emails with order confirmation and expected delivery dates. I also received a UPS tracking link once the order had shipped.
The Product I received our order on the exact day I expected them - approximately 3 business days after placing the order. The order arrived in a sturdy cardboard box, ensuring that our tickets would not be destroyed during shipment. Tickets were banded in stacks of 100 and a cardboard title piece was inserted into each stack, allowing us to very easily identify numbered bundles and assign various stacks to sellers. I ordered a glossy white ticket with a perforated edge, and was very impressed with the quality of printing and ease of use. The glossy cardstock holds ink nicely and even the smaller fonts are very easy to read.
I was slightly disappointed by the pixelated text on the back beneath our logo, as the low-res problem wasn't apparent during the ordering process.
Overall I paid approximately $70 for 1,000 glossy, perforated, customized tickets and am very pleased with the investment. Sure, I could have paid $20 for the small, generic raffle tickets sold at supply chains, but when your event is truly meant to help you spread awareness about your cause, you need additional space and professional printing to make the most of it. I had just the right number of lines to include important information such as disclaimers and licensing information, while still promoting the excitement of the event and the mission it was designed to support.
I would highly recommend TicketPrinting.com to charities and community organizations looking for the biggest bang for their buck.
Four out of five stars.
