Yeah, it's that time of year again...
I'd like to invite you all to the sixth annual "I'll Show You Mine If
You'll Show Me Yours" write-off. The concept of the write off is
simple: writers are paired off randomly (read: names picked out of a
hat). Each selects a CD for their partner to review. The catch is
that said CD should be something they normally wouldn't review/listen
to. So for example, an Iron Maiden fan might find himself reviewing
an R&B album, while a pop fan might end up with a jazz record.
Since putting this write-off together (giving time for responses,
pairing up, picking CDs, getting CDs, reviewing CDs) takes some time,
you should all know that I'm aiming for the of May or so
for submissions, though I'm open to suggestions as well.
How you get the CD is completely up to you: you can buy it, download
it, accept a burned copy from your partner, whatever. Half.com has
been a popular route in the past.
I've gotten good feedback about this write-off in previous years, and
plenty of people seem to like doing it (hence this being year #6). If

Hey all...between emails, this posting, and the Eps posting, we have 26 participants this year. Much more manageable than some past years for sure on my end.
I drew the pairs at random this morning. I'm giving a two week window this year. Feel free to start posting on Monday May 22, and postings can be as late as Sunday June 4th. This gives you anywhere from 4-6 weeks to talk with your partner, figure out choices and how you'll get them, get the choices, become familiar with them, and post a review.
