Planet Fitness took over ownership of my old gym and that's where all my problems started!!
The customer service at Planet Fitness is terrible. You can't ever reach a manager whether you are there in person or if you call. Apparently, they leave early everyday or don't show up to work at all.
All I have wanted to do for the last 3 months is cancel my membership (because I moved, but now I think I would have cancelled anyway) but they have given me the total run-around.
I officially cancelled my membership with my old gym's billing company in January but the billing company for Planet Fitness claims it has no record of that in their system- although they do have record that I STILL owe membership dues for Feb and March!
I had to go to the gym in person to sign a membership cancellation form and do my own 'leg-work' to get a cancellation confirmation from the old billing company (which I did very easily- so why couldn't Planet Fitness have done this for me??).
Never mind the fact that when I joined the gym 2 years ago they promised me 2 free months at the end of my 2 year obligation. But when I mentioned this to a sassy PF employee, she said, "we aren't taking responsibility for any promotions or promises made by the old gym". Interesting...probably NOT a good way to promote customer loyalty as a new business.
Overall a nightmare. I warn any new members, if customer service means as much to you as it does to me. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!!
