HOT FUZZ
PLOT
Nicholas Angel (Simon Peg)is london's premier overqualified super cop, who, thanks to his comrades watching him overexceed his performance in his duties, is soon reassigned to a sleepy little village in Gloucestershire, called Sandford by his less than amused predecessors. Realizing that his seriousness in his profession led to his reassignment from his fellow comrades as well as losing his fiance, he is reluctunt, but soon takes the assignment.
Soon after arriving in this sleepy little town, he pops by a pub to relax, just to find out that most clients are breaking the law by underage drinking and he is overcome with, (once again) his abilities to play supercop by taking appropriate measures. In leau of other arrests,
he soon learns that one of the arrestees is none other than one of the police officers assigned to the same station he was assigned to. The drunk gentleman is actually a cop and is the son of the police chief. Curious about his new partner, his annoying partner interludes, quickly catching up with our fearless policeman Nicholas' nerves.
Soon after Angel's arrival, Stanford has a murder investigation going and together with his curious side kick, both quickly realize that the town of Sandford Isn't as sleepy as first pronounced, as people are soon found murdered and the victims usually meet a horrific death. Simon Skinner ,(Timothy Dalton), the head plateau chief, gives in to more than a little suspicious activity as he is coming around the corner from every murder. Is he involved some way? In time, Mr. Angel quickly learns the difference between being a town cop and being a city cop and who to really trust in this slapstick comedy.
Who is doing all the murders? Is Mr. Angel good enough to catch the suspect? Why is that duck keep reappearing? Why is Timothy Dalton in this picture? Find out the answers to all these questions in this 90 minute british movie comedy.
PROS
The consistency in speed is the main factor here. It doesn't slow down. this is also why we have..
CONS
Due to the dialogue and accent of this british comedy/ horror/slapstick/action/etc..., this isn't the type of movie you can actually sit and vegetate on. What exactly was the director aiming for? The plot is normally pretty simple, except the story line itself goes quite fast. If you're going to dismiss yourself from this movie for any time over two minutes, you're better off pausing the DVD, because you will get lost soon afterwards and the understanding to the situation at hand is uprooted. You have to put your undivided attention to just interpret what is going on and after about an hour, the strain of understanding this movie is harder than the laughs it tries to produce.
OI! Ye gets betta wif de accents too, my boy!
Yes, after about an hour of this slang, you will pick up on the accent. It's actually embedded in your brain. Not suitable for seers under 18 either.
IN ALL
By the time this movie was watched for the fourth time, It actually got boring, and although some of the dialogue was understood, It still wasn't funny. I'm going back and watching Shaun of the dead again.
