I actually miss the trailer but I didn't see a purpose for it in this movie, though I'm sure someone could have found a good way to make good use of it.

This is true. :) Just saw another today in fact.
I was glad the original voice of Optimus Prime was present in this movie. It made the whole experience more authentic. You'll like it. And overall, he did look like his cartoon counterpart, though his vehicle mode was different.
Vehicle mode? He's still a truck though isn't he?

I'm really curious to see what the deleted and extra scenes are like for this movie. I'm anticipating the DVD more than anything else.

***Hopefully I'll get to it soon. It does sound really entertaining. It is nice that Optimus Prime had the same man doing the voice at least. And from what I've seen from the previews, he looked right - based on what I remember from the cartoons.
