Sorry you didn't like it. It's just a write-off. I was just bored at work, ya know?

My weak attempt at sounding like a Red Sox fan

That was pretty accurate!

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the well wishes!

We'll see what I can come up with to write about. I tend to be really lazy about writing travel ops. I have been planning on writing about London for over a year.

Mike,
Did you ever actually meet the Bambino?

If I could turn back time...

How about Bill Buckner?

The poor man.

Can you get me Pedro Martinez' autograph?

Nope, but I got one for myself. It's on the same ball as the one for his brother Ramon.

I was rooting hard for the Sox and the Cubs to make the Big Show… just to see what would happen if the World Series ended in a tie.

I was actually kind of scared that the world might end.

Cures of the Beckbino-

you may have seen one of the grounds crew members get beaten up by a couple of Yankee relief pitchers in the bullpen. My mom thinks it's karma. Yes, that guy was mean to me

Is there anyone in Red Sox history that you don't know? I know you've crossed paths with Johnny Pesky, Jeffrey Maier, and now Mean Mr. Groundscrew-Guy. Did you ever actually meet the Bambino? How about Bill Buckner? Can you get me Pedro Martinez' autograph?

I was rooting hard for the Sox and the Cubs to make the Big Show… just to see what would happen if the World Series ended in a tie.

Thanks, Tom. I'm definitely not going to watch the World Series. I can't stand either team. Actually, some of the players on the Marlins are OK, but I hate their uniforms and the fact that they are an expansion team. (Wait, that sounded really superficial...) I certainly hope the Marlins win, though!

I also despise the FOX announcers! Tim McCarver is incoherent half the time, and Boone shouldn't be allowed to broadcast a game involving his brother.

Just saw the new user-page pic that milli referenced.

Looks like your following that Boone HR, not believing that it is still rising...

Sorry babe.

My heart is broken _twice_ now! I hate the . . .'sudden-ess' of a walk-off HR!

Not sure I can muster the energy to be interested in this WS. Fox is dying
with the Cubs loss and somewhat less with this Bosox loss.

Hi Sue,
Oh my God! Karaoke at Fenway would be my ultimate fantasy. The crowd cheering. Wow! I think I might need a cigarette. ;)

Poetry is really not my thang. Sorry to disappoint.

My profile photo was taken in Scotland. It's almost as green there as in Fenway.

Becky of the fabulous gazing toward the future new profile pic,

Great choices for your revival reviews. But where's your poem? Come on! Cher would do a poem.

And I think you secretly sang karaoke to each and every one of those songs.

Did you try passing a note to them during recess?

Hi Teri,
Thanks for your comment. I have a bit of hope left, but I'm mostly full of doom.

People tease me all the time. I just don't let it bother me anymore. You gotta know you are just better than they are. Listening to a lot of Cher helps. ;)

Cheers! I have been kind of neglecting those two bands lately in favor of mind-numbing pop for some reason, but they really do rule.

Hi John,
It was a cool write-off. I was happy to participate.

my toes wiggled happily when I read the words "bad poem" in your concluding words. Yay...

Tom,
Oh, I'm prepared all right. I have become comfortably numb (emotionally). I think I may have been more upset by the Cubs losing last night than I will be by the Sox losing tonight.

Doom,

Hey Becky...

I hope you are prepared to have your heart broken one more time...
As a Sox fan myself (and one of the ubiquitous Yankee haters!) I pray
I am wrong.

Nice job on 'pimping' two great essays!

(And a quotation that's not quite as accurate as it once was. Not with
Pedro and Derek pitching for the Sox...)

...tom...
"There's nothing in the world like the fatalism of the Red Sox fans, which has been bred into them for generations by that little green ballpark, and the wall, and by a team that keeps trying to win by hitting everything out of sight and just out-bombarding everyone else in the league. All this makes Boston fans a little crazy and I'm sorry for them." —Bill Lee
