Pros: Unlimited for calls in your area and incoming long distance calls
Cons: Just about everything.
The Bottom Line: Cheap fee, but cheap service as well. Good for a quick errand, but not beneficial. Also can't use out-of-state.

The first attraction to this phone was the long monthly cost. There's a set rate of $50.00 a month and included are unlimited calls in your area. Also, if someone is calling you long distance, you don't incur any extra charges. Now, everyone has heard of the term "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." For some reason, not many of us utilize the wisdom behind that term.
This phone is awful. First of all, yes, you don't incur any extra charges if you have an incoming long distance call. However, the person calling you incurs a lot of charges because it constantly cuts you off. I don't think I can talk for more than 10 minutes without some beeping noise coming up and a message on the screen that says "searching for service." Then, when the other party tries to call me back, they get frustrated because they constantly get my machine. They can't get through! Usually they have to call back about eight times before even a glimpse of hope comes along.
I have gone with my mother to repair this phone several of times. Another one of the down points about this service is the customer service. It's about as dependable as the phone itself. They send you to one or more places until you finally get fed up and try to resolve it yourself. And, no one is willing to give you a direct answer. I tried calling the 800 number and was put on hold for about 10 minutes. Waiting doesn't become your forte after having to make about 20 attempts to call anywhere.
They do warn you that there ware some glitches in the phone. We were told that "once in awhile," it cuts you off. Once in awhile is the understatement of the century. I would not recommend this phone unless you're making friendly calls. You wouldn't want to use it for business purposes for the fact that you will get cut off. Cheap phone, cheap service. The only reason we stick to it is because it's the only one we have at the present time. But, save your money for something more beneficial. It's $50.00 down the drain!
