the speed was higher on the highways and we all drove even faster! The fact that most of us lived through those years is somewhat amazing!
We now live in Wa. State and the rules for new drivers changed just recently. Along with the old one of having had to complete (and pass) a drivers class (over $300 here at or away from school) they now added new restrictions.
They put curfews on the kids and restrictions on having other under 18 children in the car. Of course these went in effect this year JUST before my daughter was old enough to get a permit! She, assumes it is an evil plot but as parents, we were doing the happy dance! LOL
These are not new in many states and they have proof that these rules have saved lives and cut way down the number of accidents involving teenagers. Which I think we can all appreciate.
Great review and even though I learned on a stick, I'd much rather drive an automatic! :o)

We live in a similair situation, but not exactly we live on a dead end street of row houses. There are probably 20 or so more kids that live in these 50 row houses. Speed limit is 15 miles an hour and so many people fly up and down are road it terrifies me. I have a 5 year old who has been preached at not to run out in the road, but not all the kids have been and run out into the road without thinking. I know one of these days someone is going to wipe one of these kids out. We need more people like you saying take time and keep us all safe.
