Cons: The DC14 probably is easier to use with the telescopic hose.

Let me start by saying, I was an idiot for not being a believer from the start. This is by far the best vacuum that I have ever used. I just got mine from Kohl's department store tonight. I got home around 11:30 P.M. and had this thing out of the box and fully assembled by 11:35. After putting it together, I stopped and admired it for a bit, this is a beautifully ugly machine. It looks mean and tough, but that was to be proven later. I checked out all of the connections and there are many, all well positioned to allow you to unclog anything that may have the misfortune to come in contact with this beast. Then I plugged it in. To my surprise, this thing purred like a kitten. I expected it to be as loud as a 747, pleasantly surprised. How could this thing have any suction? Well lets just say I'm glad that my flooring was attached. I can't believe how much has been hiding in my carpets. I have owned my house from the day it was built 2 years ago. I have vacuumed at least once a week since that time. I had a dog almost right away and a cat for 1 year. Just the 3 of us. Well I vacuumed the upstairs of my house, the canister was filled by the end, and this is probably the largest volume canister I have seen on a vacuum. Not just hair, but ridiculous amounts of dust, dirt, and pet fresh room deodorizer. which I haven't used in over 2 months. So all of this was sitting in my supposedly clean carpet. All I have to say is, "Go get this vacuum, you will not be sorry!" The hepa filter works great, the ease of use is unbeatable, except maybe by other Dyson models. I would have gotten the DC14, but I got this was the only one on the unbeatable sale price of $260 plus $50 in merchandise credit.
