PAPER, PAPER & MORE PAPER!

Aug 05 '01

The Bottom Line I suggest that you use many different shapes and sizes of paper for your greeting cards. It's fun to receive them in the mail.

There are many different types of paper to use when making rubber-stamped greeting cards. When it comes to just the card stock - there are a number of weights to choose from; from the very light weight all the way to very heavy weight.

There are also many different packages of papers to choose from at stamp stores, craft stores and craft catalogs. I like to use an assortment, because it makes for different looks to your greeting cards. You can choose Halloween shapes such as a ghost, a pumpkin, or a bat! There are also Christmas shapes such as a star, a heart, a bear, a tree, and a gingerbread boy/girl.

There are papers in rolls that you can use to stamp on them and make your own gift wrap. This is always nice when you coordinate your paper with your card.

You can purchase card stock in the shape of puzzle pieces where you make your images on it and then take the pieces all apart, but them in an envelope and mail it. The receiver has to put the puzzle together to get the message. This is great for your puzzle lovers!

There are packages of card stock that are the size of note cards with envelopes, card stock that have scallops on the edge of them, glossy card stock and much more. A large variety of papers makes for an even more enjoyable hobby. I hope that you will try different papers, if you haven't already done that. Enjoy!
