The $9.99 introductory offer no longer exists. There is a two-weeks-free trial, however.
My experience with Netflix is that what they shipped on Monday arrived on Tuesday, but what Blockbuster ships on Monday arrives on Wednesday, so that it is impossible to view more than 3 of their CDs a week, rather than 4 (and, on occasion 5) from Netflix.
I also discovered that many of the movies I saw as them having before I became a member are "Coming Soon" when I joined and put them in my queue.
I did like the two in-store free rentals (per month) though.

I have been really wanting to join one of these groups because like you, I really enjoy renting films that are tough to find in video stores. I am encouraged by your review of this club so I am going to head on over to blockbuster's website to check it out. Great review, as always :)
