| jopurich's Full Review: Allegro Resort Aruba and Casino |
I spent an enormous amount on this trip but it was worth it! This was my first time in the Carribbean and I wanted to enjoy it so I stayed at the Allegro a four star hotel and got the inclusive plan- defintely a must have if you are a drinker. Granted you have to wear the annoying band around your wrist all week long (which made sneaking into other hotels rather difficult:) but its worth it because that is basically your meal and drink ticket all week long! You can have as many drinks as you want in their 3 bars- one inside the disco, one in the pool and one on the beach. The best one was the pool bar- you actually just swim up to it and get a drink! Love the concept. The bartenders there are so friendly but not perverted friendly if you know what I mean.
There are 4 restaurants- an Italian, buffet style and 2 international cuisines. Buffet dinner was held in the Theater where you got to see a show at the same time.
Didn't really care for the buffet but that was the easiest one. The Italian- the most popular (for good reason) only allowed you to eat there once since they are very crowded, but great food so take advantage of your one chance.
One of my favorite aspects of the hotel was the spa where me and my friend got full body massages for an hour. The price was $60 but well worth it.
The hotel had a great fantasy pool that had these rock formations so it looked like it was from a waterfall or something. And the beach was right outside your hotel with these little straw hut umbrellas that you can sit under to hide from the strong Aruban sun!
The hotel also had to offer water sports- free canoing and paddle boats.
The Casino was small but fun. I guess if you've been to Atlantic City in NJ, you'd think it was small too, but I actually won some money, which is more than I can say for AC, NJ!
But what left the most lasting impression on me was the hotel first aid. I had gone snorkeling and scruffed up my legs and it was pussing out yellow stuff (sorry to be gross) so it was obviously infected so I called the front desk to see if they had something I could put on it and the first aid guy came up and bandaged it all up for me! I felt like I was really taken care of!
So great hotel to stay at! If you dont mind the honeymooners of course!
