Stubborn stains in your sink, tub, toilet or anywhere in the house for that matter?
Well, let me tell you about this little can of scouring powder called Zud!
Zud comes in a generic looking yellow with blue label shaker top can. The can holds 16 oz. of this wonderful hard working powder. The can tells you that Zud "works where ordinary cleansers fail".
I have an older off white sink in my kitchen and stains like to hang around on it quite a bit. Especially coffee stains (because I drink a lot of coffee and when changing the filter to make a new pot I put the soiled filter in the sink until I can get it to the trash can, and sometimes it takes me awhile to get around to getting it to the trash) and also those little black marks that some of your metal cookware makes when you move them around in the sink. Zud takes care of those stains without much elbow grease from me.
I just purchased a new vacuum about 2 months or so ago and it has a rubber molding around the head so that when you get up against furniture and such it won't mar the surface but, I also have white painted woodwork and the rubber makes awful marks on the woodwork when I get the vacuum up close to it. Not to worry, a little Zud on a soft wet cloth and that rubber mark is gone.
Zud in kitchens will remove stains from porcelain sinks, clean stainless steel sinks and cleans counter tops, ceramic cookware and pots and pans.
Zud in the bathroom will clean and dissolve embedded rust and hard water stains in the toilet bowl and will remove blue copper stains, mineral deposits and other discolorations in the bathtub and on the shower tile and grouting. In my husbands bathroom we had a problem with a hairline crack in the toilet tank that we didn't know was there until it made a rust spot on the floor. The water that seeped out ran out right at where the bolt holds the tank down on the bowl. The toilet unit in his bathroom is apparently the same one that was put in when the house was built about 30 years ago and the bolts had begun to rust. The water dripping off the bolt caused a rust spot on the vinyl. I did as the can directed for such a stain, which is to make a paste with Zud and water and leave on the stain for a minute or two before rubbing. The rust stain came up like magic. After rubbing the stain you then rinse and dry. We also have floor register vents and they are painted. When I mop the vinyl floors in the bathroom, I can't help but get the registers wet and they have had rust spots on them but with a little cleaning with Zud those rust stains come right up.
When you use hairspray, do you think that the spray goes only on your hair? Nope, it also flies in the air and lands on things like your towel bars, etc. and of course, causes a build-up. With a little Zud that build-up is quickly taken care of and you have nice bright towel bars once again.
For general household use Zud cleans copper, brass, bronze, chromium, aluminum, iron, pewter, ceramic and stainless steel. The makers of Zud claims it will clean rust and corrosion from bar-b-q grills, boats and aluminum storm doors and windows. The makers say that Zud may be harmful to painted surfaces (didn't hurt my painted woodwork, but then I didn't rub hard) and laquered surfaces.
If you use Zud on fiberglass, countertops and plastic surfaces, they advise you to rub very gently.
There is a warning on the label because it contains oxalic acid, a colorless, poisonous, crystalline acid. You need to keep this out of the reach of children. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with water 10-15 minutes. Do not use or mix with chlorine type bleaches or other household chemicals as harmful fumes may result.
First aid in case of ingested is to rinse mouth and give one or two glasses of milk or water. Do Not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. For medical emergency you can call 1-800-338-6167.
If and when you go to check out Zud you may look at the price and want to shy away but if you really want to get rid of those stains then you should spend the little extra on this product because it is well worth it in my opinion. The cost for me was $2.19 a can. I did have a coupon which did bring down the cost for me but now that I have tried it I would buy it even if I didn't have a coupon.
