A Superior Ride for the Younger Crowd

Whenever I think of Lincoln, I either think of a top executive being shuttled around by a corporate driver, or an older retired couple showing off a little, while also feeling safe behind the wheel of a boat.
Then Lincoln smartened up. Many of the luxury automakers -- Cadillac, BMW, and Lincoln's in-law, Volvo, have shifted their focus to younger, affluent drivers. So here we have the Lincoln LS.
I was fortunate to be able to drive an LS for a few days (it was a rental).
First thing -- the styling. I love it. It is much more sleek than the traditional Towncar. It has all the stylings of a Lincoln, with the more sleeker body of, say, a Volvo S60, without losing that Lincoln touch. Being 25, I'm into the boat-styling of the Towncar ... but this car, WOW.
On the inside is everything you should get from a Lincoln. Comfortable leather throughout, with heated and air-conditioned seating. It has a 30,000 position power seat. Well not 30,000, but I think 8-way.
The 6 disc changer, the dual climate controls, and easy to reach radio controls are all nicely placed in this vehicle.
Now onto the power ... V8, tons of torque and great handling. REALLY great in my opinion. It handles all the turns well, and its luxury pickup is invigorating.
Again, I only had this car for a few days -- I wouldn't base your buying decision on my 2 days of driving.
But it was very enjoyable. I think the LS V8 comes in around $40,000, which is very reasonable compared to similiar Cadillacs, BMWs, and Mercedes -- and you can actually go out and do other things after, instead of just driving to the mailbox to pay your bills and home equity line.
