Before the birth of our second son, I was looking for a good quality double stroller. Since finding a double stroller at stores in rural Iowa is rare, I did my searching online. There were two strollers I found I wanted, the Evenflo Take Me Too and Graco DuoGlider.
I found the BabyAge website easy to navigate and get more information about the products they offered. They even display their sale items and promotionals at the top of the home page. A nice feature that you don't have to hunt for featured sale items and promotionals in an online store.
I had procrastinated enough, and about one week before our son was born, I found the Graco Baby Classics Duoglider in Laura print on sale for $99 at BabyAge.com with $3.95 shipping. I was amazed that this $179 stroller was only $99! And shipping was only $3.95 for my total order!
At most online stores, they will add quite a bit more for bulky items to be shipped. I believe I spent about $15-20 in shipping to get a car seat delivered from Baby Center. The Evenflo Take Me Too I was looking to buy from Target, which was temporarily unavailable at that time, would have cost me about $15 to ship the $129 stroller, totalling $144.
The item description said that this product would be shipped 2-3 days after the order. BabyAge website is good about showing whether a product is in stock, will be shipped the next business day, shipped in 2-3 business days, out of stock, or discontinued. They also have a map to show how long a product will take to get to the shipping destination from their distribution site. This map showed that it takes approximately 3 days to get something delivered standard shipping to me.
I ordered the $99 duoglider stroller from BabyAge.com with my total coming to $103.94. I decided since we'd be out of the house, to have the product shipped to my husband's work. No problems there. BabyAge had the option of a separate shipping address. (Some online retailers will not ship to another address other than the one address linked to your credit card.)
With the price and shipping costs from other online retailers for this stroller at around $190, I saved about $80! With such a deal you always think: Will I get this delivered in a reasonable amount of time? Will this product be defective or scratched up? Will this company just take my money and run?
Well, with the baby coming so soon, I just didn't have the time or brain space to worry about my order. Nor did I have to worry about my order. When the product was sent the next day, BabyAge emailed to let me know they received my order and a confirmation number. The email also mentioned that I could track my order through My Account section. For the first couple of days I would go to the Baby Age website and track my order. As I recall, they direct you to the shipper's tracking site and you can see exactly where the package was last logged. Many reputable online stores will allow you to track your orders via the shippers tracking number, as BabyAge did.
The next week I didn't check the status of my order since I was busy getting ready for the new baby. Six days had past since I ordered my Duoglider and I was in the hospital holding my new son. The next day a co-worker from my husband's work came in to see our new baby and to tell us that we had a large package delivered yesterday waiting for us at work.
I was thrilled to know that the stroller came just in time. My husband got out the stroller from the box, which had no major scratches, no dents or holes. The stroller looked new with all the plastic covering the stroller and its parts. All the parts were there and the manual was included. Everything I expected was there in the product I ordered.
The week after we brought our new son home, we took both our boys on a wonderful stroller ride on a new Duoglider from BabyAge. I plan to use BabyAge again, and would recommend BabyAge to anyone looking for good prices and cheap and reliable shipping for products geared toward babies and young children.
