I bought a 2004 Accord due to never hearing anything bad about a Honda. I chose the Accord over the Civic because it is bigger and has more power.
I love the way it drives, very nimble and sporty. I thought I would never buy a car with a 4-cylinder again but it has plenty of power for steep hills and interstate driving. The transmission shifts smoothly and downshifts with little effort.
It came with a rear spoiler. It seems to take up half of your sight out of the rear window. The road noise is unbelievable since it has a smooth ride. You don't really notice it with the air or radio on.
The speedometer is huge and lights up automatically when you get in therefore I forget to turn my lights on at night when driving down roads with street lamps.
The remote will roll the windows down. That's a plus here in the south.
I like the high beams being seperate from the low beams. When you hit the high beams, the low beams also stay on.
The drivers power window has an auto up and down. Auto up can kill a kid. It has a safety feature keeping it from raising if it is bumped but if a kid were hanging his/her head or arm out the window and not bump it, it will keep going up. I tried holding the glass and the window kept going up.
The trunk is deep but the opening is small. Seems like it will hold alot of stuff if you can get it in.
The A/C fan and radio knobs are big and next to each other. I go to turn up the fan and turn up the radio.
The LX has front disc brakes and rear drum. The brakes grab real hard like the are binding or something, not real smooth.
I get about 27mpg going to work, mostly highway miles doing 60mph. The last trip I went on I was doing 80 with the A/C on and averaged 26mpg.
I had a good buying experience. The Hondas were in a huge lot and seperated by models and cars were not stacked in like sardines. I picked out a couple to test drive and the gave me the key and said come back tomorrow after you show your wife or whatever. My Accord was about $22,700 with accessories. I paid approx $20,000.
When on a rough road my passenger door and drivers seatbelt adjuster rattles.
