The Sony microcassette dictator/transcriber model M2020 is truly an excellent investment in transcription equipment. This machine is compact, lightweight, and provides excellent sound quality. The tapes easily slide in and out of their compartment. The eject button (right next to the tape compartment), as well as all other control buttons on this unit, requires only the slightest touch to operate. This unit is equipped with a three-digit counter. The counter reset button is located right next to the counter and requires only the slightest touch. The cushioned earphones are very comfortable. If you prefer not to use earphones, this model still provides clear quality sound from the speaker as well, even in conditions with the interference of background noise. It also has the capability to record and comes equipped with a built in microphone for that purpose. All standard operation buttons (rewind, stop, play and fast forward) are easily accessible on the top of the unit. The speed and volume controls, as well as slide adjustments for tone and tape speed, allow you to adjust your machine to play almost any tape. The foot pedal is equipped with reverse control on the left side and play control to the right and again, requires a very light touch of the foot to operate. If that's not enough, the automatic reverse feature is easily adjustable. When you lift your foot, your machine can rewind one word or several. This unit is very basic, easy to understand all functions, and very simple to use. It is also reasonably priced and an excellent investment. In comparison with many styles I have used in years past, this is, by far, the best there is.
