Okay, okay... Better late than never. This is a tardy entry into Dionne25's Mother's Day Write-Off. Due to many different things that were out of my control, I was not able to write an entry until now. Sorry, Dee!
I love to send people flowers. Really, I do. I send them for all sorts of occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, get well, you get the idea. I even send them for no reason at all, just to let someone know that I'm thinking about them. Flowers are a terrific way to let someone know that you care.
On the flipside, I love receiving flowers. Fortunately, I'm dating someone who loves to give them. I receive flowers from him relatively often, and usually for no reason-- just so he lets me know that he's thinking of me. There is nothing like the feeling you get when the delivery person shows up at the door with a beautiful arrangement of flowers just for you. Even though I know who they are from, my heart still does a flip. I don't think I'll ever lose that reaction to getting flowers.
Two big flower-giving holidays have just passed: Easter and Mother's Day. For Easter, we were able to hand-deliver the flowers to our moms and other women in our family. For Mother's Day, however, we were unable to be with his family at all. It was 1-800-FLOWERS.com to the rescue!

Ordering from 1-800-FLOWERS.com is very easy. Just go to the website, peruse the many different floral arrangements, select what you want, enter your credit card and shipping info, click submit and you're done!
I have never had a problem ordering from 1-800-FLOWERS.com, and I have purchased from this website many times.
Customer service is great, too. You can call them at 1-800-FLOWERS (1-800-356-9377) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I had a question about a promotion I saw online, and I wanted to know how to apply it to my order. The customer service representative helped me quickly, efficiently, and in a friendly manner. I was very pleased.
When ordering for a busy floral delivery day, such as Mother's Day, you are given choices of when you want your flowers to arrive. You can choose a window of one to two days, or stick to your guns and insist that the flowers be delivered on that holiday. Since we knew that the family was going to take this special mom out to dinner and we couldn't go, we opted to have them delivered on Saturday or Sunday, so that there was a better chance of her being at home to accept the flowers. They arrived late in the day on Saturday, and she was thrilled.
Once your order is placed, you receive a confirmation email to let you know that the credit card is going to be charged. You also receive a confirmation email once the order is delivered and accepted at its destination. There's no need to track the order or anything-- 1-800-FLOWERS does all of that for you.
1-800-FLOWERS accepts all credit cards, which is very convenient. I ordered using a gift certificate, and that was very easy. I won the gift certificate in a radio call-in contest that WALK 97.5 had during Administrative Assistant Week. I didn't know what to expect when I sat down to place an order with the gift certificate. I was pleasantly surprised when there was a gift certificate prompt when paying for the order. I went over the amount of the gift certificate, and only had to put that amount on my credit card.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, I love receiving flowers. I have received several bouquets over the years from 1-800-FLOWERS.com from many different people. The flowers are always huge and very fresh. They last a very long time, too. I have received baskets and vases, all of which were excellent quality.
Every so often, I will receive a promotional email from 1-800-FLOWERS.com, letting me know about certain specials that are happening on the website. It isn't like the harassing emails and phone calls that I get from Omaha Steaks. They're just friendly reminders of holidays and announcements about sales they are having.
1-800-FLOWERS.com is a terrific online florist and gift shop. If you're looking to send something to someone special, either locally or around the world, 1-800-FLOWERS is definitely the place to send it from.
