cyn321's Full Review: 2005 Chrysler Town & Country
I purchased the '05 Town & Country Touring model, have driven it about 200 miles and so far, can not find a thing I don't like about it. Prior to this minivan, I drove a Chevy Suburban for 5 years and a few other 4x4's prior to that, so minivan is a new experience for me. Obviously, a Suburban has a lot of cargo room, but is a gas guzzler. I still needed the room, but wanted more fuel economy and this is the only minivan that could provide that for me. Looked at Ford Freestar first because I thought I was going to get more for my money (due to their rebates)- but nothing can compare to the '05 Chrysler Town & Country. The space with seats folded into bed of van is wonderful and extremely quick and easy. Have three children and can get to all of them with the spacious interior. We opted for the rear entertainment system for the kids and although it is pricey, a great investment in so far as keeping the kids entertained and quiet! Also opted for the leather package and side curtain airbags, eventually plan on picking up their center console. FYI-You can not purchase their luxury package without purchasing their leather package-personally I didn't think the two were worth the $4200. It's very strange how Chrysler bundled the luxury package (as if it were available separately), because 1/2 the items listed with the luxury package are already bundled and priced with the leather package-it looks as if you're being charged twice for the same items. I say go with the leather and save on the luxury- there's plenty of luxury built in as standard. The van rides extremely smooth and is very quiet. Still trying to learn all the electronic features of it, but I can say I truly love it. I'll have to wait and see how it handles in inclement weather. The stow'n'go seats were definitely the selling point for me and the dual power sliding doors and back hatch are great features as well- especially with the sensors so the kids can't get crushed. I have yet to see a feature that I don't like- so if you're in the market, you should definitely put this one on the top of your list to check out. Although they said there were no rebates available on the new model, I was able to negotiate $800 below invoice which is about the $28,800 the prior reviewer spoke of and I think it's worth every penny of it and then some!
