The Bottom Line: Ultra Dawn Fresh Escapes is an economical grease cutting dish washing liquid with a pleasant green apple scent. It also doubles as an anti-bacterial hand soap.

My Experience
I am a Dawn lover. When the Dawn product line first came out I was hooked. I have never experienced such grease cutting ability in a dish washing detergent before trying Dawn products.
From the moment you open the container the scent of green apples fills the immediate area. I use one teaspoon of detergent per sink of dishes. This measuring thing is something that I do because too much makes it difficult to rinse. (More about that later) I don't see the point of using more than necessary. Those ingredients that I can't pronounce do end up in my septic tank. The amount of dishes that I typically wash is 6 plates, 4 bowls, assorted silverware, 5 or 6 drinking cups and glasses, 3 or four cooking pots, and 2 cast iron skillets. From the beginning of the session to the very end, the suds last and the cleaning ability of this product lasts from beginning to end.
Rinsing the dishes under running water rather than dipping in a sink of rinse water seems to work better at getting all of the soap off the dishes. I tried the dip and dunk method one time and had apple flavored coffee...Ooops!
My hands come out feeling soft and supple not red and cracked. However, I generally don't do a lot of hand lotion and hand care... just lucky I guess.
Final Thoughts
I am a satisfied customer of Ultra Dawn Fresh Escapes dish washing liquid. However, when money is tight, I do tend to go for the generic version. It smells ok, but doesn't have the cleaning power of the name brand product.
