Xtend (sold by igo.com) was advertised as the last power
adapter you would ever need to buy, because as you update
your hardware (e.g., replace your Sony VAIO with an IBM T40 in my case), you can just buy a new cable that plugs into their universal transformer on one side and into your new hardware on the other.
A year ago, I purchased their Xtend product for my Sony VAIO so that I could use it on airplanes. It worked very well, and I had no problem on several long airplane flights. It was well-designed.
However, when I upgraded my computer to a new T40 IBM Thinkpad and contacted iGo, it seems that they do not have
cables for this new laptop. Instead, they encourage me to purchase their new "last adapter I'll never need to buy", which is called "Juice". I'm not going to fall for this twice!
