| Donnie013's Full Review: Clorox Oxi Magic Powder |
By now, after reading some of my reviews, one can safely assume that I like clean things. Stains bother me. Grime annoys the - well, it annoys me completely. Im not talking about the small stuff you can wipe up with things like Orange Clean http://www.epinions.com/content_115977064068
Im talking about the hard-to-clean dirt and grime that gets caught in the fibers of your carpet. While I found a carpet cleaner that works great, http://www.epinions.com/content_116702809732, there is another thing you can do to enhance the cleaning ability of Bissells fiber cleansing formula and the power of your steam cleaner http://www.epinions.com/content_51568676484.
I found CLOROX OXI MAGIC.
Not too long ago, I found a similar product, Oxiclean, http://www.epinions.com/content_109621972612, and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Then I tried CLOROX OXI MAGIC Multi-Purpose Stain Remover. What a difference!
The first thing I did was put OXI MAGIC in the laundry. I cant believe how gray the clothes had become through time even with other detergent additives. With one scoop of OXI MAGIC, my whites were whiter and my colors were brilliant. I was completely impressed. Then I decided for the ultimate test of this little white powder. My carpets!
The carpet in my great room gets all the traffic and it showed it. I poured in the Bissells fiber cleansing formula then after I mixed ONE scoop of OXI MAGIC with just enough water to dissolve the powder, I added THAT to the carpet cleanser. HOLY COW!!! My carpet looks like it was just installed. Every bit of four years of dirt and grime are gone! Even the old, dried up stains from Zeus (my whacky Poodle) are now a thing of the past.
When you read the label, big yellow letters that spell WOW jump out at you. WOW! REMOVES WINE, TEA, JUICE, PET STAINS AND MORE!! Believe me, the label doesnt lie.
Clorox also boasts that this powder is chlorine bleach free which means its safe for colors! My laundry can attest to that. What bright, sharp colors!
So, if this awesome powder has no chlorine bleach, what does it have in it?
Its made from two little chemicals called SODIUM CARBONATE and SODIUM PERCARBONATE. Sodium Carbonate is a drying agent. It helps keep moisture out of the powder to keep it from getting lumpy. Sodium Percarbonate is a formula that decomposes into oxygen, water and natural soda ash (as per solvayinterox.com) that is used in detergents because its environmentally safe. Its very effective for heavily soiled items and is color safe. There is NO phosphorus in OXI MAGIC.
Ive noticed a strange thing about how OXI MAGIC works and I will assume this is what makes it work so well. Its not the OXI MAGIC that works well, its how well it makes detergents work. You see, it seems to cut down the amount of sudsy air bubbles and lets the soap in the detergents do the jobs for which they were made.
When I poured one scoop of OXI MAGIC in my washing machine, the amount of suds was cut in half. There was absolutely NO soapy film left to sit on the clothes after the final rinse cycle.
The soap detergent in the tank of my steam carpet cleaner had NO suds after I added OXI MAGIC and therefore every stain, new and old, was removed completely. Not one trace of the cola, tomato sauce, dog food (and DOG) remained.
Not only did everything come out super clean, it SMELLED clean!
According to the label, you can use OXI MAGIC on carpets, bathtubs, sinks, countertops, toilets, all kinds of flooring, tile and grout and in laundry! No surface is too delicate for OXI MAGIC.
It removes all sorts of stains: food, dirt, mud, grass, PET stains, coffee, tea, juice, INK, WINE well, I could just go on and on about all the stains Ive eliminated since I started using OXI MAGIC but instead of taking up all this time, how about if I just encourage YOU to try it. Believe me, you wont be disappointed.
precautions
Like any detergent, OXI MAGIC is an eye irritant. Because it contains certain chemicals, ingestion is harmful. Should you get OXI MAGIC in your eyes, rinse gently with cool water for about 15 minutes. Should you, your child or pet, accidentally ingest this additive while in powder form OR after its been liquefied, please be sure to drink a glass of water immediately and call poison control for treatment advice.
The plastic container that OXI MAGIC comes in is completely recyclable. What more can I say? CLOROX thought of everything when they made OXI MAGIC. Its safe for the environment, easy to use, works to perfection, makes your soaps BETTER and made the tub recyclable. WOW! NOW THATS A CLEANER!
Did I tell you that one 2-pound tub costs ONLY 3.49? Not only is this a great stain remover, its also a great bargain!!
