I consider myself a digital camera pioneer, since I've been using one since '99. I bought a 1 megapixel Kodak DC200 plus (which I reviewed elsewhere) and have taken more than 4500 images with the thing. I admit, most images are not worth the effort, but that's the advantage of digital photography, you only print what you want.
The 1 mp resolution is totally outdated now, but I still get decent 4X6 prints out of it. So, for me, absolute pixel-perfecion in my print-outs is not the main issue, for me it is convenience and price. Though I must admit that my prints from a 3 mp coolpix that a friend borrowed me gave very good print-outs, with warm colours and excellent sharpness.
As for convenience, I must say that Ofoto does a good job. You can upload your images through their decent web interface, or, better, through their free software. This comes with some editing tools, such as red-eye reduction. But it is not a good program to neatly organize your photo-albums. For that purpose, I highly recommend Picasa (which I bought last month, awesome!) or Fotalbum 3, a free program, though not as good as Picasa.
Once you upload the images, albums are created which you can share easily, but that can also be done elsewhere, such as on Yahoo. There seems to be no limit to the amount of data you can upload, as long as you place some orders. Shipment is quite rapid, and I have not had a single problem with the 10+ times I have used the service.
The only problem I've got is the relatively high price. I have not checked the prices lately, but a couple of months ago, it cost about 49 cents per print. That is a lot more than a 35mm at Walmart.
My customer service experience is limited to some email correspondence, which gave satisfactory results, som 3 stars for that item.
All in all, its a good service, certainly worth the try.
