Pros: Compatible with most TWAIN scanners, animated help, many helpful tools Cons: Expensive
I am one of those people who think Microsoft has got too big for their britches and look forward to some real competition in the software market. With that said, I still believe Microsoft Word 2000 to be the best word processing program out today. I...

Pros: Almost universal, functional Cons: Silly animated "help", incompatibility with Works
Teaching computer office skills to medical assisting students inevitably involves word processing, and on my campus involves Word. Microsoft Word has, of course become and industry standard, and is the software my students are most likely to...

Pros: Good spell checker and Grammer checker Cons: Quite an expensive package
If you find you have some trouble with small typing problems such as missed letters or badly phrased sentances, Word 2000 will help as much as it can.
With spelling errors it has two ways to help. Firstly it will underline all the words that...

Pros: Great features, Easy to Use Cons: none
I’ve been using Microsoft Word ’97 for years now. There are many features in Word ‘97 that make your word processing very easy and fun to do. I strongly think that Word is the true champion of word processors. The ease of use is unmatchable.

Pros: windows defaults to it, flowcharts work well, usually free with system Cons: heavily mouse driven, poor implementation of international characters
I have been a loyal wordperfect user for years. I've been here through wordperfect 5.1, 5.2 for windows, 6 for windows, 7,8 and now 9 or 2000 as Corel calls it. I was forced to learn Word 97 when we got new computers at work. One would think that working...

Pros: Supports a large number of document types. Cons: Huge program, can be slow, has intrusive "help" features.
Word 2000 really doesn't require 2 GB of hard drive space, but I think my title expresses the feelings of many people when it comes to Microsoft's software "bloat".
Of course, Microsoft is not the only culprit when...

Pros: It's the unavoidable standard Cons: Full of "help" that gets in the way of actual writing and thinking
I use Microsoft Word for the same reason most other people do: because there's no really viable alternative. (If you love Word, you can stop reading here.) In the 20+ years that I've used computers for writing, I've been through a sequence of word...

Pros: Help section, easy to learn, very neat features. Cons: Price, could mess up easily.
Microsoft Word is the standard for word processing today in any environment, whether is it school, home, or your business. Many people have rated this program highly, and some poorly. Hopefully, this review will give you a better insight on this state of...

Pros: It's a word processing program Cons: It's not a great word processing program
I have been utilizing MS Word now for over a two year period, mostly because of our clientele. I have also written a review on Corel WordPerfect having utilized and owning every version since WP6.0, but didn't write one on MS Word at the time because I...

Pros: good features, well supported file structure Cons: ugly html editor, problems with "help" and with spell checking, occasional errors that bring up the MS VBasic debugger.
For the average PC user who is just going to be writing letters and various other buisness documents, the Microsoft Word program is an OK word process or to use. It comes with a lot of built-in templates, some extendable feature, and a little dynamic...

Pros: Easy and Spell Check Cons: slow and does not check all the mistakes
Introduction
The first time I used Microsoft Word was when I got a free copy from Dell Computer Corporation where I work. I have loved Microsoft Word ever since then. I feel that Microsoft Word is a must for all computers; the program is easy...

Pros: Works well most of the time. Cons: Doesn't work well the rest of the time.
I remember first using Word back in the early 90's before Microsoft decided to abandon making quality software in favour of pursuing world domination. It was a great program, and one of the best on the market. Since then, they ceased developing quality...

Pros: easy install, smart help, backward compatibility, price, comes with a book Cons: a bit excessive on the features; Microsoft will only support this version on iMac, iBook
I’m a longtime Mac-ophile who, until just yesterday, clung to my familiar, safe old Word 5.1, even though I’m a freelance copywriter whose clients are all PC users. So far I’ve always managed to resolve cross-platform problems when emailing my work, by...

Pros: loaded with extra features, very user freindly, easy to learn wizards for almost every need Cons: steep price, click-man gets annoying!
We have been using MS Word since the beginning, way back when it was first introduced with all its flaws, glitches, and bugs. We've stuck with it during all it's incarnations into what has become a powerful, slick program for word processing.
