You Can Do Better

by ladyhawk617 , Nov 21 '00
Pros: Scans large photos, negatives, slides
Cons: Programs hard to use
I can't figure this thing out. The pictures are grainy and it frequently commits "an illegal operation" and I have to start over again. I have had it for over a year and I admit am not an expert when it comes to utilizing these types of...

Reliable, Quality Scanner!

by Bruguru Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Jun 18 '00
Pros: Great scans, reliable,, affordable
Cons: Cover can't be completely detached
I do a LOT of scanning, graphics for my website, photos to convert to Windows wallpaper for my desktop, items I'm selling on Ebay. After my previous nightmare experience with a Hewlett Packard scanner, the Plustek 9636T has been a breath of fresh air. It...

Plustek a Poor Choice

by leo549 , Apr 21 '00
Pros: WHEN IT WORKED it worked well
Cons: No support, no warrantee service, I would not recommend this company or this product.
I purchased a Plustek OpticPro 9636T in December of 1998. My primary reason for selecting this model was its ability to scan 35MM negatives and transparencies. Unfortunately the results when scanning film negatives and transparencies is so poor that this...

Great Value

by hihosilvers , Dec 27 '00
Pros: price, ease of use, speed transparency adapter
Cons: Parallel port connection, seemingly weak support from company
I purchased the 9636T scanner primarily to scan photographs for emailing. The biggest bonus of this scanner, is that it has the ability to scan slides and negatives, a feature not easily found in a scanner this price. I was originally looking for a USB...

Why doesn't EVERYONE own this?

by Yalum85 , Mar 22 '00
Pros: Built-in negative & slide scanner, sturdy lid hinges, great price!
Cons: can't think of any!
I shopped around for a scanner before I purchased the Plustek 9636T, and I have not regretted my purchase once! (I've had it for more than a year!)

First, the features are unsurpassed! Many scanners have gadgets you can add to scan negatives...

Scanning made easy!

by s.r.turner , Aug 18 '00
Pros: Multi-uses
Cons: Does not scan legal size.
I did a lot of research before buying a scanner. My first goal was to find a scanner with multi-uses. I was looking for a scanner that did negatives, worked well with programs such as Photo Deluxe, and would scan legal size transmissions. I found all of...

Was Mine a Lemon?

by Moonsparkz , Sep 03 '00
Pros: The Scanner worked well for the short time it worked
Cons: Seems to be planned obsolescence timed to happen when the warranty is expired. No tech service available.
I purchased my Plustek OpticPro 9636T scanner on August 4, 1999. The reason I purchased this particular model was for the ability to scan slides. I had no problem setting it up or loading the software. In fact, for a while I was quite pleased with the...

What a great deal!!!!!!!!!!

by kpellerine , Aug 06 '01
Pros: Inexpensive, slides, negatives, 8*11 flatbed, less that $65.00 US, great deal
Cons: None I can see, as long as you have the ability to learn with it.
I purchased this model in January of 2001. I have recently looked for a few for friends are interested in purchasing one as well. There are not many left out there but they can still be found for under $65.00 US.

MicroGrafx the imaging...
