NetZero = constant pop up interruptions! Annoying!

I am still currently using NetZero because I am researching some of the other free ISP's before I switch. I want to make SURE I don't encounter this same annoying problem with the next one!
NetZero seemed like such a great idea... saving $20/month and at first I was satisfied with the service. I was somewhat annoyed for the first month or so about having some interruptions in the form of little boxes that would POP UP onto my screen - blocking whatever I was reading or writing - demanding that I click on it so that it would go away. These messages tell you that you that you will be terminated in 30 seconds unless you stop what you're doing and CLICK. A couple of minutes later here comes another POP UP box! This one informs me that I can click on the advertisement at the top of my screen for more information! (Duh)
Well, these type of POP UP's were annoying but I was willing to put up with them - until they started their NEW campaign to completely monopolize all of your online time paying attention to their advertisements!! Now in addition to the NetZero boxes that pop up every few minutes, I have to click on giant advertisements that appear out of nowhere and that take up the entire screen. They come very frequently.
A practical example of how bothersome it is - just signing on for a few minutes to check and return email can mean having to stop reading or typing several times to clear POP UP messages from the screen. To me, it is a real frustration to have to stop, take my hands off the keyboard, click the mouse, reposition my cursor back to where I was typing and then have to regain my train of thought every few minutes!!
I expressed my frustration to NetZero in several emails - asking them if there was any way that I could "turn off" the POP UP messages in my user preferences. When they responded, they didn't answer my question about opting to turn off POP UP ads, instead they explained to me that they were working on a way to ensure that I get NEW and DIFFERENT advertisements with each POP UP - rather than getting the same one over and over! (Yippee!)I assume since they avoided my question - that means there is no way to make the POP UP's stop coming.
My personal take of NetZero is that they think that subscribers will put up with such annoyances because they will do anything to avoid having to pay $20/month for less obnoxious service. I certainly understand that they depend upon advertisers for their livelihood and I am willing to endure the ads so long as they are reasonable and not obtrusive in this way! To me, the free service is not worth the frustration. I would much rather pay the monthly fee and if I don't succeed in finding an ISP that doesn't bombard it's customers with constant advertisements, I WILL gladly go back to paying it!
