I just recently won the Agfa Snapscan 1212p on an auction from egghead.com. I got it for around $40 and for the scan res. of 600x1200dpi I thought it was a good value for the price. I have been using it to re-scan some photographs that I had not been able to get good scans of with another scanner. This scanner has a very good color balance and the scanner software is much better than the software that I have seen provided with other scanners. It connects to the computer though the parallel port so it is slower than models the connect with USB, but for the price and the qualities scans that I have gotten from the scanner since I got it I feel that This scanner is a great value. I have gotten better images from it than I have from a scanner that cost several times more. I would recommend this scanner to anyone looking for an inexpensive scanner for personal use.
