Terrible Mistake
Jan 01 '01
I recently wanted to purchase a new computer. I looked over the internet, at reviews, and in the paper. I chose CompUSA because they seemed to be a good company and because they had the best price on the computer I was buying. I called up CompUSA and asked if they had my computer in stock. They told me that they had three computers in stock. I quickly drove to CompUSA and picked up the computer.
I wanted to know a little information before I bought the computer. I asked what kind of warranty I would have and what my computer has. I tried to make sure everything I needed was in it. The person I worked with looked very young, and when I talked to him about these things he didn't know what to say. He was not sure what was in the computer and he did not have a very good knowledge of computers. I was not happy with him. Finally I found someone who could tell me about this computer. They explained it pretty well. I payed for the computer and they said they would put it in my car. I went out to pull my car up close and the computer isn't anywhere in sight! I walked inside compUSA and they have a couple guys arguing who can carry the computer. I was a little upset at that moment.
Finally the computer was in my car and I drove home. After I hooked up the computer I used it for about a day. I was having an odd sound coming from the computer. Also when I put in a CD or something just for a little time, it would come out extremely hot. I called up customer service. I waited and waited. Finally someone told me my fan was broken. They said I would have to return the computer and get a new one. CompUSA told me that they would hold me a computer. Once I got there however they were out of my computer. I complained and they told me no one held the computer so they sold the last ones.
Eventually I had to go to a farther store which was about an hour away from where I live. The service was okay at this store. Once I got home I hooked everything up. More problems arrived. The computer I purchased did not have a working mouse or speaker cords. Eventually I just got completely sick of the whole situation. I had to go back to CompUSA a third time and pick up another computer. I finally just stuck with this computer.
I HIGHLY suggest going to another store besides CompUSA. Until they fix some of their problems, I would suggest going to another computer store near you.
