For the past few years we have been a two Explorer family, at one point owning 1998, and 1999 Ford Explorer XLT vehicles, both 4 wheel drives. We were looking for a change for the 1998 model, but it was hard to break away from our love of Explorers.

Pros: Good 4wd. Competent cornering. Comfortable Seats. Alot of room in rear seats.
Cons: Poor Gas mileage for V-6. Costly. Has not held resale value as expected.

Overall this is a great vehicle. We live in a very snowy corner of the country. 120"/season on average. The Sport Trac does all that we ask of it and more. On and off road we have had reliable service and pleasant driving in our Ford.
