1991 bmw 318i

Pros: A head turning, four-person convertible that drives as good as it looks. Cons: Expensive repairs. Restricted rear window visibility when compared to hardtop versions.
My 1991 BMW 318i was my first BMW, and one I still own today. I've since purchased four others - of which I still own three, including the 318i. The e30's (85-91 3-series) are true driver's cars. With sporty suspension and anti-roll bars they really corner with ease. The 1.8L of the 318i is adequate, but lacks the punch of the 2.5L Inline 6. An automatic transmission really limits the low speed power of these cars, but once above 4,000 rpm, they really come alive. Four-wheel disc brakes are standard equipment, and they bring the car to a halt quickly. My only complaint is the cost of parts and service. Of all the BMW's I've owned, nothing draws attention like this one. It's truly a pleasure to drive.
