As of Oct. 20, 2007, I am revising my original comments on VTG because the Director of Customer Service, "Vacations to Go," picked up my critique and called to ask what can they do to solve this issue. We had used "Vacations to Go" four times in the ...

Good prices, and a little more by gili557 ,Aug 15 '05
I see ads all over the internet promising the best rates. I didn't want to pay more than necessary. I also understand you get what you pay for. I called Vacations To Go and booked my cruise in May with Joan Mosquinski. She not only answered all my questions, but found us two connecting cabins on the Princess Island Princess and was able to get us a free upgrade. She made me feel like a valuable customer. True, you can find the same rates elsewhere, but having read other reviews about Vacations To Go, I felt comfortable booking there. My tickets arrived on time, my cabins were excellently located, and we had a great cruise - just as promised. I will book with them for our next cruise - this time for Cunard's Queen Mary 2.
Vacations To Go knows what they're doing!!! by hollyangeli ,Oct 28 '05
At first, I was unsure about booking my hard-earned vacation with an on-line agency. However, it was the best customer service I've ever experienced. Taylor Vaught was terrific and we will recommend her to all of our friends.
A most impressive travel service in every respect by pavbear ,Apr 20 '09
We are based in New Zealand and as part of our 2008 2 month visit to the United States, were keen to book a cruise out of Galveston.
One is a little apprehensive about using an on line service in another country. We were however so impressed with the VTG service and its delightful representive Mrs Joan Mosquinski - that we booked another one out of Maimi as well.
The advice and helpfulness could only be described as exceptional. Whenever we can - we will book our cruising requirments with the good people at Vacations to Go.
We find the website excellent with its good quality factual information and very much appreciate the weekly email advice.
Used them for a second cruise and just were extremely pleased at the professionalism and efficiency of VTG. We worked with the details and while we might have found a slightly lower fare elsewhere, the careful and complete care that they took was worth it. They explained what fees/taxes were not in the quoted price and it was all as described. These folks are terrific. (again!) I've also used a regular 'brick and mortar' travel agent for a trip this year and won't do that again!
Excellent service and performance! by susannyc ,Mar 09 '07
I am a repeat customer of VacationsToGo and am very pleased with their service. Have found the customer reps to be extraordinarily polite and efficient (usually one call is all I need to make to book a cruise). Very accommodating and they will spare no effort to get back to you with additional info or helpful advice. Never had a problem with a "hard sell" or inaccuracy. Last year I booked directly with a cruise line (Carnival) and was very unhappy with both the rep and the service...in my opinion, VTG is far superior. The deals may be the same, but the service is better, friendlier and more honest.
Great with a very nice agent. by neenee47 ,Feb 22 '06
I receive the newsletter in my email. I check with their deals. I found one that I like and contacted them. I talked on the phone with Anna. She was so pleasant and had me booked in no time. I received the tickets in my email and just printed them up. It all went so smooth. She emailed me several times to make sure all went well, plus telling me to have a nice trip. When we returned home, I have received a nice email from her hoping I enjoyed my trip.
This was the first time using VacationstoGo but definitely will again.
Vacations To Go is Aces with Me by ilovecruises ,Feb 08 '09
I booked a cruise with Vacations To Go and the service could not have been any better. I was told I would have my confirmation email within 72 hours, but I had it the same night. I really liked that the tickets were emailed to me instead of put in the regular mail, so there was no apprehension about waiting for paper tickets to arrive in my mailbox. My agent took time to explain what I should expect and when I should expect it and returned my emails and phone call promptly. I am an experienced cruiser and have booked with several different online outfits before, and Vacations To Go by far surpasses their competition in the marketplace. Kudos to Vacations To Go.
Can be trusted to do business with. by hiel ,Sep 28 '06
'Vacations to Go' is my travel agent and highly recommended for delivery speed, order accuracy overall satisfaction and much appreciated professionalism.
We used vacationstogo.com for the first time and they were great! Very friendly, cheery, informative, thorough. Found a great price for a wonderful cruise! I was a bit aprehensive to buy from an online company but it was easy and no problems at all! Smooth sailing, to say the least! They even helped me buy some travel insurance at a good price. I would use them again and I have shared the website with all my friends and fellow cruise passengers!
Excellent, Amazing Selection, Best Prices by dearesther ,Nov 29 '03
We have just booked our second cruise through Vacations to Go and we are extremely happy with the price we paid (very reasonable) and the service we've received. Their website is easy to use and although I have checked out many other discount cruise sites, this one is by far the best in my opinion.

Being from Canada, I was somewhat reluctant to use a US based cruise dealer. I was wrong!
First, the attention and honest responses from the Vacations to go agent were simply outstanding. They answered all my questions and dealt with all my concerns.
I ended up saving $200 dollars per person simply by following their advice!!! I didn't pay upfront the full amount (as asked by other US providers) and got credited for the drop in price a week later.
I highly recommend Vacations To Go by yarnelljoe ,Feb 22 '04
My dealings with Vacations To Go was quite a pleasant experience and I feel that I received a fair price on my first cruise. I appreciate the frequent e-mail offers that come my way from them, since being retired we have plenty of time to take advantage of vacation offers. I look forward to my next Vacations To Go bargain.
They offer so much information on their site and the fact that they ask you to register is also not a problem, since almost everyone does. I have to keep a log of all my passwords and user names for the sites I use on a regular basis, so it really isn't a big deal. Also having the ability to speak to a real person is a nice thing in this day and time when everything is so impersonal and automated.
I don't have the patience to try to save 10 to 50 dollars by making phone calls and staying on the computer for extended periods of time.
Easy to use, got a great deal! :-) by Anne9612 ,Dec 09 '04
My husband and I used Vacations to Go to book a last minute cruise for this Christmas. We new that we wanted to cruise on Carnival and leave from New Orleans. The Carnival website did not have a cruise leaving on the 19th of December but Vacations to Go did have the cruise we wanted and the suite was 30 or 40% off list price. We called up Carnival to see what their price would be and it was about $400 more per person! So we booked our cruise and received our confirmation and now we are off in about a week! This website was really easy to navigate and they really do have great deals. I would recommend this website to anyone wanting to book a cruise. Most cruise lines are represented and there are tons of options available as far as cruise locations!
No frills and a great price! Just what we want! by ptbernard ,Jul 04 '04
For the second year in a row, Vacationstogo.com provided us with excellent service. We don't need gift travel bags. We don't even need to sit down with anyone. We pick a ship and a date and we get a great price on a wonderful vacation.
Flexible, courteous service delivered by phone and web. by mvortex1 ,Feb 25 '04
Whether booking a vacation on the web or by phone, one should expect a reasonable balance of expertise for the product while enjoying a streamlined, client oriented approach to these services. 'Vacations to go' offers all of these; a serious vacation shopper will find the right amount of information on the website and the format of information links allows one to overview an entire vacation, from departure to return.
Our family booked a cruise through Vacations To GO. Follow up calls prior to the commitment and payment were very attentive. Since I made final payment and received edocuments which are not correct I have not been able to get the representative to respond. I called the cruiseline direct and they cannot resend my edocs without the reps permission, another email and again no response. Today I emailed requesting a supervisor call me or email me to straighten out this mess before I get to the port. Customer service has not been up to par and I resent that fact that she will not take care of my issue. A simple call or email would have kept me a happy customer. We will see how attentive the supervisor is, if not another call and I will ask that it be elevated. Not really asking for much but correct documents for a trip I have spend over $4500.00. Geez
Incompetent agents, Lack of attention, Changing prices by chronbrownie ,May 26 '09
I used the resort branch of vacationstogo. Extremely bad service. They repeatedly upped the price they were quoting. We booked our trip in October for a trip in March, but I did not get my travel documents until less than 48 hours before my trips. This was after numerous hours on the phone. At one point my agent asked me "what [I] wanted him to do about" him getting my documents when I got frustrated. On top of that they reversed the names First/Last instead of Last/First for all of our travelers. We had to pay a $30 fee. When I called them about this and asked them to correct this for our return a week later I was told it would be taken care of. It never was. It took me 45 minutes and a lot of stress in Mexico to return to the US. I complained about my service to the top. They refunded the $30 fees and gave me 10% off commission for my next trip with them. No way in hell I'm going to travel with them again!!!
Did not honor best price guarantee by bargainfinda ,Feb 19 '07
I did come cruise shopping and found lower prices when I called the agents. I then called Vacations to Go for a price match or to beat the price. I was told that I would have to speak with a manager. After being put on hold for a long time, the manager kept giving me different stories then eventually said that they could not match or beat my "good price". So much for guarantees.
Their website was helpful to me though in my search.
unethical, greedy, false information, unresolving by lyo1231 ,Dec 23 '08
We book a vaca. package and canceled 6 days later we were discouraged from purchasing travel ins. because the fee was so little and the rest would be refunded back to us. Now we find out the fee is $150 per person (ours $600) and the rest is not being refunded we are issued a "future Travel credit" the fisrt time I heard this was when I was looking for my refund after I waited 40 days yet I was e mailed and quoted a refund within 21 business days. Don't let this happen to you. Our agent made a quick sale and misguided us with false information and policies. I now am battling with Us Airways who aplogize for the agent misinforming us. We have 1 year to use this or we lose $4200 and if and when we decide to travel there is a $150 fee. Beware!
Don't Go ....Beware the Bait and Switch by cricketeer ,Feb 22 '06
Booked what was a good deal for a 5 star Jamaican resort.
Based upon what I read on line I asked about the bait and switch.
Was assured almost never happens. Sure enough 12 hours before the flight was switched to a 4 star resort and told that I had no good options. No choice, no refunds, no extras, no answers,
No excuse. Got to believe that's how they make money.
Caveat Emptor.
I always used Expedia.com before and I never had any problems. I decided to try VacationToGo.com and it wasn't good expirience. My agent Jean Shwanbeck gave me hard time, I spent a lot of time on phone calls listening her promisses. She gave me wrong information, wrong advices and as result I had to cancel my vacation and lost my money. I recommend not to deal with such travel agents.I returned back to Expedia next day and I got everything I want right away and much cheaper.
Vacations to go was a complete disaster--Over paid-non-stop hassel-didnt get the right documents until many phone calls and much frustration--treated very poorly for such an expenditure--you would have thought they were doing me a favor helping me complete the transaction after very quickly and happily taking my money--DO NOT USE THEM!!
WORST TRAVEL EXPERIENCE EVER!! DO NOT USE VACATIONS TO GO! by wohrleygirl ,Jul 29 '09
My husband and I booked our third vacation through VTG in July. VTG does not handle their own travel arrangements. They pass off the reservation to Apple Vacations and take no responsibility in anything that goes wrong. They will take your money but take no responsibility. I cannot suggest strongly enough that anyone considering VTG choose another vendor. The customer service is horrible. I even talked to a customer service manager to try and get our situation resolved, all to no avail. I have emails of our confirmation number and all the details of our vacation. They did not care. They changed our number of nights at the hotel to seven instead of the eight we booked and paid for. The hotel did not have our reservation. It was bad from the moment we landed. We ended up having to pay for the eighth night (again) before we checked out. SERIOUSLY CONSIDER BOOKING THROUGH ANOTHER TRAVEL COMPANY OR HANDLE THE ARRANGEMENTS ON YOUR OWN. YOU'LL BE DOING YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR.
I WAS LIED TO and now Carnival cruises refuse to return my money booked an junior suite /balcony ocean view with them on Carnival Cruise lines also very bad.Read the reviews and you will never use them. NEVER INFORMED SUITE HAD OBSTRUCTED VIEW UNTIL I ARRIVED ON THE BOAT. my confirmation never stated it.I arrived on the boat left after one hour as I did not want to look at life boats for 5 days from a dark room and Carnival would not assign me another room or suite. Now I will sue Carnival as they will not return my money. These 2 companies are in bed together and Carnival does not care if the travel agents lie to steal your money.I will now go to small claims court.
