My wife and I registered at Unicahome. Unfortunately, as we discovered, they are unable to provide the level of service necessary to support their products.
2 product were damaged as a result of heat. It turns out that the owners of Unica have been aware that the European design kettles are not compatible with the higher powered stoves in the US. They also failed to account for differences in wattage for lamp designs.
As if a fire hazard were not enough, they were unwilling to exchange to merchandise.
Probably best to go to other resellers - just take a look at the brands they sell on their homepage.
This is the worst website to order online and their customer service is non-responsive and worthless... Once I placed my order I received an automated email but there was no follow-up on the status of the order... I attempted to contact the customer service dept. via email and phone but received no response regarding the status of the order... When I sent an email to cancel the order I then received an immediate response... I asked them to cancel the order that had not been yet shipped (and was not received) but instead they went ahead and charged my credit card regardless!!!! and told me that they will give me store credit according to their return/exchange policy... This is ridiculous... Do yourself a favor and avoid ordering from this website... If you see an item you like just "google" it and you buy it from somewhere else...

I just received a pair of lamps from Unica. And I cannot say enough good things about them. My order shipped promptly. I was a bit worried about how well they would arrive being I live in New York and Unica is in Las Vegas but the lamps were professionally packed and arrived in perfect condition. I had done a little searching on the internet and their prices seemed very reasonable. I was very surprised at the size and depth of their selection. I have placed three orders from Unicahome.
The first arrived within ~2 weeks, but aside from the sluggish shipment there were no issues.
I got confirmation of my second order, and waited. And waited. At the three week mark I contacted Unicahome myself and was told that the item was on backorder. It does not appear that they would have told me this had I not contacted them on my own.
For my third order, I requested four items. I received confirmation of my order, but one week later was advised that three out of the four were on backorder (despite all having been listed on the website as shipping within 1-2 weeks). The email I got was trite in indicating that some of my items were on back order ("some"? try 3/4!).
The website is nice, the products displayed are good, but this is not the place to get them! Considering that more competitive prices can often be found elsewhere, I will not shop on this site again and will not recommend it to my friends.

Very bad company that I would encourage anyone, even an enemy, to stay far far away from. They bill you for 50% of any special order and then blow by the estimated (see that's key, they say estimated) arrival time of 4 - 6 weeks and treat you like the jerk for wondering when you are going to get the item you paid for. I am sure they will be out of business in the not so distant future. It is IMPORTANT that every time you see a blog mention an item is available from Unica Home that you post in the comments alerting prospective buyers that you will only receive headaches and legal problems, not the item, if you purchase from this company.

I ordered an item on sale from Unica Home and it was defective. It took 3 months for an adequate replacement to become available. Unica Home then tells me that I have to pay full price for the replacement product! Though polite, their customer service reps are ineffective and may not return calls. Please avoid shopping online from this merchant, it will save you a headache! The one "plus" I will offer is their shipping department, as items are well-packed and labeled.

Awful company who lies and misleads. Please do not buy anything here as I would not wish the horrible experience on anyone. They told me to expect my order in 6-8 weeks and only did it all arrive almost 4 months later. Also, after a couple of months I called trying to cancel (after all, other places had whatever I ordered in stock for immediately delivery) and they refused. Also, on a separate occasion, I returned something for credit and when the returns manager would not give me a credit (and also she would never call me back like she said presumably because she was trying to dodge the situation), it ultimately was my obligation to produce the UPS tracking number to prove they signed for it.
I have had an awful experience with Unicahome order. I ordered an item and after 15 weeks I am still waiting for the item to be delivered. I have been complaining several times and the only answer is "we do not feel responsible for delays" and "it will be ready in two weeks". No apologies or solutions. At some moment I was asked to cancel the order if I was not happy but obviously they will not return my money. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!

Really, really bad customer service.
I was told my items shipped on a Friday, and called Monday to get tracking info. Was given a number with no results. The owner - Bonnie - gave me some runaround about how the order was picked up and fedex must not have scanned it. And was very rude.
There are a million other places online to buy everything they sell. There's no reason to buy it from them and get bad service and to get lied to.

I have had a couple of positive experiences with Unica but on major negative experience yet to be resolved. I have been waiting 162 days for an item with an estimated delivery term of 12-16 weeks. This is retarded. I have been told since the first week of December that the items were loaded on a freight ship and that I should have my items in 3-4 weeks. I have since been told that again and again. It is very hard to communicate with customer service. Your best bet is to go ahead and call during business hours since e-mails often are ignored. No one seems to have any answers and simply put I'll get my items when they get here. OK.

After 12 weeks I was told my item shipped, but no one can tell me how or when.
Caleb, one of the 'account reps' is the worst customer service rep I've seen in a long while.
I've seen this before (Full Upright Position). Company operating on a shoestring, robbing Peter to pay Paul, and probably not paying their suppliers or shippers.
Eventually the music stops, and the customer gets left holding the bag.

I have had nothing but the most responsive and helpful service from this online store. We have our wedding registry here, and the owner, Bonnie, as well as the returns dept, and the orders department have been unfailingly prompt in returning calls and emails. I had a problem with one order, which was due to an error on my part, but Unica helped me return the wrong items and replace them with the correct ones. Their registry service is the best of all the ones I've used--they send an email notice when something is purchased off the registry, and they also generate a shipping notice with a tracking number when it is shipped. None of the other merchants, including Crate and Barrel, Bloomingdales, Wedding Channel, etc. offer that service. They also have the best merchandise!

My recent experience at Unicahome was great. I was in town for a trade show and needed some things to accessorize my booth. I came on a Saturday for a show that started on Monday. I was greeted promptly and offered water, fruit, and cheese when I walked in. I was looking for some things I saw on the website, but that were not in the showroom. They had everything that I wanted in their warehouse, except 1 item, which was at their other warehouse. One of the owners was there by herself, with none of their warehouse help, but she offered to drop it off at the trade show on Monday. She did, and I am a fan forever. Seldom do you see service like that anymore!

Terrible. Delivery of Bensen bookshelf was over one month late. We were promised "white glove delivery," and then later told that there was no such service. The employee who sold us the bookshelf has been since fired for lying to several customers, and we were told that the delivery was delayed in customs. Frankly--not my problem for a $2000 bookshelf!
The delivery company they did use "American Relocation and Logistics" was about as accommodating as the telephone company. They assign a 4 hour window to you the day before delivery. We requested delivery in the afternoon, were told it would cost Unica $75 extra, and that Unica denied the charge and request. Our window was 11 am to 3pm--the delivery finally arrived at 4:30pm over an hour late.

My package, for an order of an outdoor thermometer that was listed as in stock, arrived within a reasonable timeframe. Unfortunately, that package did not contain the item I ordered, but an entirely different model than the one pictured on their website (color, style, even temperature scale).
I sent Unica the photo from their website, and a photo of my item, expecting a resolution to this obvious error. Instead, I was ignored. And ignored again. Under their terms, I would have had to pay return shipping and a restocking fee, or accept something other than what I ordered.
Sadly, their website is a great collection of euro designed products, so it would be cool if a legitimate business was selling this stuff. Unica is not that business. Don't take the bait.
DISHONEST, RUDE, STAY AWAY. When completing an order for an item online that at all other pages of their website was indicated for free delivery, I noted a shipping charge was included. Called,confirmed this 'inconsistency' and was assured that I was correct, Then a RUDE person got on the line and told me, that's just the way it is. I canceled my order. If this is how they treat customers before a purchase,I can only imagine how they deal with post-purchase problems. In summary, I suggest you shop elsewhere, even if you pay a bit more.
Poor service. It has been well over 5 weeks (for a product that said 1-3 week shipping time) and no product, just delays. Level of service is subpar (lack of replies to e-mail, will not return phonecalls, etc). Avoid!

This was one of the most awful shopping experiences I have dealt with in my life. Once this company has you order on line, no one answers the phones, when they finally do pick up you are transferred to any extension just to get you off the phone. When you inquire as to where you order is because it's well past the shipping time for it to arrive no knows the what, where, when or how about your order. If you ask to speak to the owner who's names I'm told are Bonnie and Hugh Fogel, they will not return your call or pick up the phone. This only shows me the problems start at the top and continue down to ALL aspects of this mess of a company. Do yourself a favor and buy the same products with a another company!

Unicahome represents the worst and most horrible people on Earth, Hugh and Bonnie Fogel. They only care about themselves and they make their employees lie to the customers about delivery times and shipping costs. They will wait until you order something and then send you an e-mail telling you some ridiculous shipping price and how many weeks it will take. Hugh, the owner, will overcharge you with the shipping cost and your item WILL NOT be delivered on time unless it is very small and in stock and you get lucky. The owners openly say that customers can't get the merchandise anywhere else, so they have to order from Unicahome. Don't do it...you CAN find it elsewhere! I am ashamed to say I used to work for these monsters, but will make sure people know what devilish, nasty people they really are.

My order took 4 weeks to arrive. They clearly have nothing in stock, and simply purchase the items themselves when a purchase has been made on their site. That is no way to run a business. These days of e-commerce are about customer satisfaction, not the ability to find items which can be found widely because of the Web.
Their flat shipping rate of $8.50 for ground service is also ridiculous for smaller items.

I am writing to confirm what others have said about Unica Home- that the company is dishonest, their customer service is horrendous and, insult to injury, their items are easily available through other websites. I wish I had done my research before choosing this company.
It has been 13 weeks since I ordered a chair that was supposed to arrive in 10-12 weeks. The company is not responding to my calls or emails. I am currently in the process of tracking the order through Knoll, since Unica has been completely underhanded and refuses to give me an update on the status of my order. Please do not order with this company.

We also had a miserable experience with Unica registry. We registered for a variety of tableware, including a set of expensive napkins. 3 months pass with no delivery -- we repeatedly tried to the order at this point but one of the owners, Bonnie, won't return emails or phone calls. They finally arrive 6 months after purchase.
We've tried to return them for store credit, but Bonnie refuses to return emails or phone calls. My mother, who purchased the gift, finally got in touch with the other founder, Hugh, who was extremely rude on the phone and hung up on her!
Among Hugh's fantastical claims was that no wedding registry accepts returns. I recommend finding a registry that does, and with people who are nice and responsive. What's the point of registering with a mom and pop store if they won't be customer-service-focused?

ordered a coat rack, and various wall decals and hanging mobiles for my daughter's room; was told that everything was in stock and my credit card was charged - i requested express shipping; 2 weeks later, i had nothing. my emails were not returned; telephone calls led nowhere except to a terrified agent who insisted the items were in route, but she could not provide any shipping confirmation/tracking codes; when i asked for a refund, she balked. one month went by and i disputed the charge with my credit card company; unica home is run a group of unique morons: i have never experienced anything close to this sort of poor customer service, and my home is furnished predominantly with modern furniture - take it from me, there are other sources that will gratefully sell you these items at less/competitive pricing and hold true to their dedication to the customer (for instance, DesignWithinReach!)...i will never shop with here again!

I had a horrible shopping experience with this site -- during the holidays, which is when you want transactions to go as smoothly as possible! Here's the abbreviated story: 1) They charged me for a product they did not have available. 2) They never bothered to tell me that this product was not in stock (I had to email them several times). 3) They denied having charged my account and, therefore, refused to issue a credit for the merchandise they couldn't deliver. 4) After they finally acknowledged that they had mistakenly charged my credit card (I sent multiple emails and provided further evidence), they promised to promptly issue a refund -- and this was not done. 5) I FINALLY got my money back after sending more follow-up emails to them.
Their ordering system obviously needs improvement, and their customer service was a joke (they were neither friendly nor prompt in their replies).

I ordered an item from this store for international delivery. The site acknowledged my order and advised shipping would be quoted. I waited a week for a quote but nothing was received. I e-mailed the site asking for the present position and received a brusque, no nonsense e-mail advising my card name did not match so my order was cancelled. I have used my card on countless international transactions with many reputable sites without any problem whatsoever. Unicahome assured me they would rush my order if I placed another one. I did so and e-mailed the new order number. Again, I received no response, despite sending three e-mails requesting an update. I have e-mailed to cancel my order and have sourced elsewhere and hope my Unicahome nightmare is at an end.

The customer service that I experienced was exceptional. They are one of the only places that I can call and get a live person to answer the phone everytime. No automated service or computer voice makes me press this number and that to get to a real person. I placed an order and received it within 1 week, well packaged and perfect. Before placing my order I had some questions regarding the item and the customer service person I talked to was very knowledgable in the product. That is impressive, considering the extensive amount of product they carry. The fact of the matter is that more people go to review sites to complain then they do to compliment an experience, so I would say not to let some cranky people deter you from a great shopping experience, such as I received.
The other thing that I have experienced as I am updating this is that I posted this review on epinions on 4-7-08 and I still cannot find my own review on epinions when I serach under Unica Home. I wonder if epinions is not posting all of the positive reveiws?

I ordered a nativity set on November 11. After several days, I received an automated email that the item was on back order and would be shipped in 2 to 3 weeks. I heard nothing else. After 3 weeks, I sent an email, using the link on their page, asking for an update. Nothing. I called the toll-free number. The customer service rep had a hard time accessing my account. As promised, she called me back before the end of the business day with a resolution. The item was available and they sent me the nativity set by three-day expediated shipping (with the shipping costs on them).
