Pros: Fairly easy setup, excellent results Cons: The box doesn't tell you you need another ethernet cable.
I bought this product after returning the WAP-11 after finding out that the WAP-11 wouldn't do what I wanted. Here's what I wanted to do: have a "1/2 and 1/2" system, whereby one computer would be wireless and the other would be ethernet-connected...

Pros: Instant network, no wires Cons: Slighty complicated, can't follow my DSL modem's changes
The DSL Access Point/Router (which I'm just going to refer to as "router" from now on) was a Christmas gift to myself.
When I bought it, I was between DSL providers. I was assured at Circuit City that I would still be able to use it to...

Pros: Simple to set up and administer Cons: Poor reliability, non-functioning features, terrible support.
I had significant problems with this unit for the two weeks that I owned it. Today I took it back to the store and traded for a similar, but much better, Netgear unit. The biggest problem was that it would not hold a solid connection with the cable mo ...

Pros: Easy to setup. Cons: Bad reception where other router worked great.
After buying my Compaq laptop, I decided I needed a wireless network for true mobile computing. I bought this router and the Linksys WPC11 notebook card because of brand recognition and I figured having both the router and card from the same manufacturer ...

Pros: none Cons: weak signal, doesn't support MSN messenger voice packets, died after a year and a half
I had it for a year and a half, and now the wireless portion of it is dead. Linksys tech support said I'd have to buy a new one, since it's out of warranty. I expect devices like this to last long enough to become obsolete.
The entire time...

Pros: Easy setup, easy maintenance, great price for all-in-one box Cons: Much more expensive and slower than wired networking
I had....
- 3 Laptops and 1 PC
- 1 DSL Connection
- 4 people wanting to check e-mail and chat at the same time
What do I do?! I needed to get everything networked so that the whole house could share the DSL. I had 2 options,...

Pros: Works great in a 2600 square foot, 2 story house. Cons: Had port problems with Ver. 4 unit.
The router works great, both wired and wireless. I had a problem with the first unit I bought (Ver4). It would not recognize my laptop on on port 2 but it recognized my desktop. Linksys technical support thought it was a defective unit. I returned it for...

Pros: It's cheap... Black and Blue look nice in many settings. Cons: LinkSys's Quality Control has seemingly gone to hell. Customer/tech support is abysmal at best.
.
We went through two of these units (on a single simple one router LAN) over a period of six weeks and both suffered from continual problems with overheating, routing table issues, and apparently random resets of the router... Both routers are on...

First a little background. My network consists of the following machines:
1 wired machine running Win XP Pro (1.5GHz)
1 wireless machine running XP Pro as well with Netgear MA101 USB wireless adaptor (500MHz)

This is an incredibly easy to use product. The manuals have complete details on how to plug in the cables. You put in a setup cd and it configures everything for you. I was on withen 5 minutes.

Pros: Easy setup. Has 4 ports for hard-wired solution. Decent range Cons: Not obvious on how to filter by MAC address.
I have setup several home and small office networks, both wired and wireless. I decided to set up my own wireless home network and went through several trips to the store returning D-link, SMC, and Siemen's wireless products (for more info see the...

Pros: Easy to implement Cons: Documentation could be better.
I purchased this unit recently, along with the wirless PCMCIA card (WPC11). I have to say that I am very impressed. It was very easy to install and use.
Linksys have released the newer 802.11a unit, but that is still very expensive.

Pros: easy as pie to setup, great range, made my life easier Cons: I once stayed on the phone for over an hour for Tech Support
After realising my family of 4 can't share one computer, I managed to fix my brothers computer, and move my computer up to me room :) It wasn't too long that I discovered that I had also left my internet connection.
Solution: Easy. We only...
